Gold Status

With car technology changing more then ever, we need the training to keep up. This past month we were recognized as a gold class http://www.goldclass.com/  repair shop.

This is a continuing education program for all employees. This program allows for all of the employees here to go for training. Instead of having one person go for training and ”teaching” the shop what they learned, now everyone in the shop goes for training on a yearly basis to keep up with new vehicle trends and allow for a safer and more quality repair

Right to repair act

Last night I attended a meeting for New York State repair shops (independent). Part of the meeting was to discuss the Inspection program and a Legislative bill for Consumers and Independent repair shops.

So the morale of the story is that we do not get the same amount of information that the OEM dealers get to repair the cars properly. This leads consumers having to have certain repairs done at the dealer. More and more information is being withheld and the vehicles are getting more complex so more information is needed.

There have been some lobbyist in Albany helping our part but some Manufacturers are claiming the information is out here but we (independents) do not know how to repair the cars! I had to laugh at that one! We have repeatedly fixed cars that dealers could not figure out.
